Who we are
Storycart (storycart.in) is an online bookstore run by SPV Global Holdings, No:1, Chinna Mangadu Contonment, Poonamallee, Chennai 600056, India. In this policy, “we” and “us” means Storycart. We follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other Indian laws that apply to us.
Information we collect
- Information you give us: your name, phone number, email address, billing and delivery address when you place an order or create an account, and anything you send us on WhatsApp, email or in reviews.
- Order information: the books you buy, order value, payment method and delivery status.
- Sign-in information: if you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. We never see your Google password.
- Device and usage information: your IP address, browser, pages visited and items in your cart, collected through cookies and our security and caching tools.
We do not collect or store your card, UPI PIN or net banking details. Online payments are handled by our payment partner Razorpay.
How we use your information
- To process, pack, ship and deliver your orders, and to send order and shipping updates by email, SMS or WhatsApp.
- To give you customer support and handle returns and refunds.
- To run your account, wishlist and saved addresses.
- To keep the website secure and prevent fraud.
- To improve our shelves, website and service.
- To send you offers and new arrivals, only if you agree. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we share it with
We share only what is needed, with:
- Courier and shipping partners (such as Shiprocket and its courier partners), to deliver your parcel.
- Payment partners (Razorpay), to process online payments and refunds.
- Service providers who run our website, hosting, email and messaging (such as Hostinger, Google and WhatsApp), under confidentiality obligations.
- Government or law enforcement, when the law requires us to.
We never sell your personal information.
Cookies
We use cookies that are needed for the store to work: to keep items in your cart, keep you signed in and protect the site. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, but the cart and checkout may not work without them.
How long we keep it
We keep order and invoice records for as long as tax and accounting laws require (usually 8 years). Account details are kept while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
How we protect it
The website uses HTTPS encryption, a firewall and login protection. Access to customer data is limited to the team members who need it to serve you. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable care to protect your information.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can:
- ask what personal data we hold about you and how we use it,
- ask us to correct or update it,
- ask us to delete it when it is no longer needed for your orders or legal records,
- withdraw your consent for marketing at any time,
- nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf, and
- raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer, and then with the Data Protection Board of India.

Children
Our store is meant for adults. Children’s books are bought by parents and guardians. If you are under 18, please use the site with a parent or guardian.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
